When does the program start?
Every fall semester.
How long does it take to complete the program?
Five semesters. It takes twenty months to complete the program, including one summer semester.
Where do students enrolled in this program attend classes?
Students attend the MS GSCM program entirely online. Blackboard is used as the course Learning Management System (LMS).
How many students are admitted to the MS GSCM program?
In order to keep class sizes small and optimize student-student and student-instructor interactions, only 25 students will be admitted to the MS GSCM program for the Fall 2018 semester.
Are there any textbooks and how/where do I get them?
There will be required textbooks, simulations, and other learning resources required for each of the five classes. Your instructors will let you know more about textbooks and where/how to purchase them at least one month before each class begins.
I have a learning/physical disability. Can I attend this program?
Yes! All five online courses are designed using Universal Design principles working in conjunction with the UAA eLearning and Academic Innovations Department and the UAA Disability Support Services Department.
According to the Centre for Excellence in Universal Design, Universal Design is “the design and composition of an environment so that it can be accessed, understood and used to the greatest extent possible by all people regardless of their age, size, ability or disability.” Examples of Universal Design in an online classroom environment include written transcripts for videos, digital reading materials that can enlarged or converted to audio format, and accommodation for a variety of language skills.
I have graduate credits in similar courses from another university. Can they count toward this program?
Unfortunately, no. All of the courses in this program are required courses, regardless of whether a student has taken similar courses in the past.
I have graduate credits in other subjects from the University of Alaska. Can they count toward this program?
Unfortunately, no. There are no options for electives on this program.
