Faculty & Student Seminar: Procrastination in Charitable Giving

Maros Servatka, Professor of Economics at Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney, Australia discusses his field experiment to test theoretical predictions regarding the effect of deadline length on task completion. The test involved a charitable task setting in which participants were invited to complete an online survey, with a donation going to charity if they do so. Participants were given either one week, one month or no deadline by which to respond.

Join legal scholar Robert Gasaway Monday, Aug. 27, 2018 at 5 p.m. in UAA/APU Consortium Library Room 307 for a presentation focused on how modern thought can help improve our understanding of current events and constitutional controversies, including prominent decisions of the United States Supreme Court. A discussion will follow led by Noble laureate Vernon Smith.

NUM Visit

UAA & the College of Business and Public Policy Welcomes the National University of Mongolia!

On Wednesday, July 18th, the University of Alaska Anchorage along with the College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) hosted a delegation from the National University of Mongolia (NUM). The group’s visit further develops the relationship between the two universities that began with an Academic Cooperative Agreement last November.

Dr. Darren Prokop's latest industry practitioner article can now be read in the June 6, 2018 edition of Modern Materials Handling. This work was also published earlier this year in Supply Chain Management Review, a sister periodical. The article discusses both the problems and opportunities for shippers and carriers when they fully understand how economies of scale works in the marketplace.
