ANCSA: Land, Spirit and Identity
Be sure to join us Friday February 10, 2017 from 6:30 to 9:30 PM in Rasmuson Hall room 101 for "ANCSA: Land, Spirit and Identity".
Guests include Byron Mallott, Emil Notti, Willie Hensley and special moderator, Gerad Godfrey. They will share their perspective on whether the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act preserves the Alaska Native values of land, spirit and identity.
The event is free and open to the public.

Leadership Fellows Mentor Interview - 11/28/2016
The College of Business and Public Policy's Leadership Fellows Program pairs high-performing CBPP students with a mentor in the Anchorage business community, giving students the opportunity to learn about real-world leadership from local business leaders. This year’s cohort includes 21 CBPP students, called protégés, and their mentors. To begin the program, each protégé interviewed their new mentor, and every week, we will feature one of these interviews with the mentors, who share their thoughts on leadership. This week’s featured protégé/mentor pairing is Meghan Carson, and her mentor, Walter Williams.

Professor Frank Jeffries Discusses Gender Issues in Negotiation
Professor Frank Jeffries and Michelle Bergquist of Women Lead Radio have a candid discussion on gender issues. Frank has conducted research on gender issues in negotiation. He shares historical reasons why women continue to find challenges to succeed in a male-dominated world. They will discuss the findings of his research and how women can use this knowledge to leverage a woman’s innate strengths and abilities to advance.

This course explores land as defined by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 and covers some historical perspectives relating to this unique legislation.
