BA A490B ANCSA LAND - ALASKA NATIVE BUSINESS MANAGEMENT
This course explores land as defined by the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act of 1971 and covers some historical perspectives relating to this unique legislation. This class will cover current issues relating to ANCSA Land and the authority and obligations with the implementation of ANCSA. The class meets at UAA’s Rasmuson Hall for two consecutive Friday’s, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on November 11 & 18.
Who should take this course
This course is offered as a 1 credit elective course within the newly established Alaska Native Business Management minor at UAA’s College of Business and Public Policy.

About the Instructor
Ethan Schutt is the Senior Vice President of Land and Energy Development at CIRI.
Schutt is Athabascan and from Tok, Alaska. He joined CIRI as general counsel in 2005.
He holds a degree in mathematics from Washington State University and a juris doctor
from Stanford University.
