2022 Business Plan Competition

The CBPP Business Plan Competition inspires and encourages entrepreneurship and economic development through an annual program that offers a series of events to support and guide participants through the process of developing a business plan. UAA students and aspiring entrepreneurs from the community present their startup ideas, and meet and receive feedback from experienced mentors, investors, and seasoned entrepreneurs who have successfully started and grown businesses. The program culminates with a "Perfect Pitch" event and thousands of dollars in cash prizes!
What’s the recipe for cooking up a perfect business plan? Along with essential ingredients, it takes time and practice.
The College of Business and Public Policy is pleased to announce the winners of its 2021 Business Plan Competition, which culminated last week when four finalists presented their plans to a panel of judges and 80 attendees at the Perfect Pitch event.
Four finalists have been selected to compete at Perfect Pitch, the final event in our Business Plan Competition, on Friday, March 26 at 5:30 pm.
The Alaskan Data Solutions team brainstormed the name and criteria for the First Fortune $500 Award (FF$500).
UAA’s Business Plan Competition is designed to inspire and encourage economic development and entrepreneurship. The number of people coming forward with new and innovative business ideas is way up during the pandemic, said several speakers during the competition’s kick-off event last month.

UAA College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) student finalists teams presented investor pitches to a panel of judges and 43 community participants, competing for cash prizes in a live virtual event on Friday, March 27, 2020.
The 2020 CBPP Business Plan Competition's purpose is to inspire and encourage entrepreneurship and economic development. The competition will be held at the Lucy Cuddy Dining Room from 5pm to 7pm Friday March 27, 2020.

for business start-up seed money and/or distribution among winning team members.
** The number of finalists will be determined at a later date.
*** Finalists will present their Investor Pitches during our Perfect Pitch event in front of a panel of judges and a live audience. This will be held either over Zoom, or in person if possible. If in-person, Perfect Pitch will include a Trade Show and dinner.
