Leadership Fellows Junior Program Celebrates 2015-16 Cohort
Clark Middle School students who participated in UAA’s College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP) and Clark Middle School Leadership Fellows Junior program completed an academic year-long leadership development program this month.
To celebrate, students and parents attended a mini-conference at Clark Middle School on Saturday April 2. The mini-conference culminated with an awards ceremony.

Graduate Students’ Project Offers Sensory-Friendly Films
College of Business and Public Policy graduate students, Yulia Grishina and Franz Burghagen, created a business plan in their BA 635 Current Marketing Issues Seminar for the Alaska Experience Theater. Yulia brought the idea to offer sensory-friendly films for viewers with disabilities to fruition when she took Dr. Hoanca’s graduate internship class this semester. Alaska Experience Theater recently had its second showing of a sensory-friendly movie thanks to two CBPP graduate students.

BBA Global Logistics Student Wins Writing Award
BBA Global Logistics student, Loreen Davis, received the 2016 Garth N. Jones Student Writing Award at the College of Business and Public Policy's Honors Program, April 8, 2016. Prof. Prokop and Dean Prasad presented Loreen with the award certificate and a $500 check. Loreen's award was in recognition for a paper she wrote for LOG A415, Purchasing Management.

Congratulations to Annette Evans Smith
Annette Evans Smith, President and CEO of the Alaska Native Heritage Center, has been nominated to the National Council on the Arts by President Barack Obama. Annette has served on the Alaska Native Organizational Management Advisory Committee for the College of Business and Public Policy since 2011 and we are very proud of her nomination to this prestigious role.
