ALCCDC Winners ‘Team A’

Combined MIS/CS Student Team to Compete at National Competition in San Antonio, Texas!

UAA’s combined team of both Management Information Systems (MIS) and Computer Science (CS) students won first place at the 2016 At-Large regional Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (ALCCDC). The Center for Infrastructure Assurance and Security (CIAS) has formally invited UAA’s winning team to compete in the 2016 National Collegiate Cyber Defense Competition (NCCDC) being held in San Antonio, Texas.

Each week the College of Business and Public Policy will be highlighting a mentor in the Leadership Fellows program with an interview conducted by their protégé. This week’s featured protégé/mentor pairing is Arie Henry, who is pursuing his degree in management and marketing, and his mentor, Chris Orheim, who is a General Manager with Global Spectrum, which manages UAA’s Alaska Airlines Center.

Dr. Junfei Bai, a professor from the College of Economics and Management China Agricultural Univeristy (CAU) will be speaking in Rasmuson Hall room 303 on Friday, April 15th from noon to 1:30 pm. From the flier: "Food waste is reviewed in relation to the prospects to feed the increasing global population, even a Plan-B in some countries. A better understanding the social and economic mechanisms behind food waste generation is therefore essential to public policy makers."
