Leadership Fellows Mentor Interview with Leslie Holland, Alaska Bureau of Land Management, Deputy State Director, Support Services
The College of Business and Public Policy's Tom Case Leadership Fellows Program pairs high-performing CBPP students with a mentor in the Anchorage business community, giving students the opportunity to learn about real-world leadership from local business leaders. To begin the program, each student protégé interviewed their new mentor. Alumna Eva Ulukivaiola (BA Economics ’17) Featured in Green & Gold
When Eva wasn’t in the library or in the lecture hall pursuing her undergraduate degree, she was busy involving herself with extracurricular activities at UAA, from serving as a senator in USUAA and vice president of UAA’s Economic Club, to helping plan the university’s Homecoming events, as well as been serving as a mentor in Student Support Services.

ANCSA: the Good, the Bad, and the Ugly; January 26th 2018
On January 26th, Professor William Hensley will be part of a panel discussion about the Alaska Native Claims Settlement Act (ANCSA). For Alaska Native peoples as well as for anybody living in Alaska, this act has had a considerable impact. CBPP has been sponsoring an ANCSA series of events for a few years, and the discussion promises once again to be lively and interesting.

Alumna Samantha Luban Heading to London!
Samantha Luban, B.B.A. in Economics with a minor in Russian '17, will be attending the London School of Economics this Fall. She attributes much of her success to her time at CBPP. At CBPP, she was able to work at the Vernon Smith Economic Science Lab, which gave her exposure to top professors working on meaningful research. This experience “opened countless doors and led me to my current job at the Anchorage Economic Development Corporation.”
