Wisniewksi Receives Rotary Award for Vocational Service

ISER is Seeking a New Director
ISER is currently looking for a new director, who will coordinate research activities both within the institute and with other institutions and agencies, and will supervise a multi-disciplinary team consisting of 30 people, including faculty, administrative and research staff, and student researchers.

Students Practice High-Stakes Decision-Making During Arctic Security Simulation Course
A landslide, tsunami, missing cruise ship, wildfires and Arctic haze all hit Alaska at once last month in a simulation created by UAA students in the Arctic Security course. They responded to these imagined future emergencies in a weeklong role-playing assignment mimicking the pressures and cascading events policy decision-makers are faced with during disasters.

John Nofsinger Named Dean of the College
Dr. John Nofsinger has been selected as dean of the UAA College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP). He has served as interim dean of CBPP since spring 2020 and as professor of finance and the Seward Chair in international finance at UAA.
