Faculty & Student Seminar: Effects of Severance Tax on Economic Activity - Evidence from the Oil Patch
State governments often reassess and debate changes in severance tax rates on production, there are few empirical estimates of the relationship between drilling activity and severance taxes. Dr. Dale Manning helps fill this gap by estimating the responsiveness of drilling activity to changes in production severance taxes between 1986 and 2013.

Accounting Club Wins Annual ‘9 in the Spine’ Event
The Accounting Club claimed their 4th win in 5 years for the annual Nine in the Spine event! This event, organized by the UAA Alumni Association, raises money for student scholarships. The Accounting Club beat out 23 other student clubs with a Hawaiian theme this year.
