Marlaina Ross, BA Economics 2017, is currently pursuing a MA in International Affairs with a concentration in International Economics at the George Washington University in Washington, D.C. The Accounting Club claimed their 4th win in 5 years for the annual Nine in the Spine event! This event, organized by the UAA Alumni Association, raises money for student scholarships. The Accounting Club beat out 23 other student clubs with a Hawaiian theme this year.

Dr. Terry A. Nelson was recently recognized at the 24th Annual Institute on Teaching and Mentoring hosted by the Southern Regional Education Board (SREB) as an inspiring teacher. The SREB’s Doctoral Scholars Program prepares minority Ph.D. scholars to enter college classrooms and teach the next generation. Dr. Nelson is a 2013 graduate of the program. She was one of six scholars that the Institute on Teaching and Mentoring featured as an inspiring teacher.
