The College of Business and Public Policy’s Department of Accounting & Finance proudly announces generous donations in 2021 and 2022 from industry partner Thomas, Head & Greisen.

“These donations help our accounting students and programs,” said Department Chair Gӧkhan Karahan. “They are truly meaningful, especially in these challenging times. We also appreciate Thomas, Head & Greisen’s support of the 2022 College of Business and Public Policy Showcase, where we highlighted some of our unique programs to the community.”

Collaborating closely with industry partners is essential to the success of our programs, Karahan added. For example, the recent donations have already been used to support accounting students through funding software certifications and sponsorship of student attendance at the Accounting Club’s 2022 Fall Social. The Accounting Club is one of the most active student groups on campus, and regularly provides opportunities for members to network with representatives from Alaska's professional accounting organizations and potential employers.

The Department of Accounting & Finance offers an Occupational Endorsement Certificate in Bookkeeping, an AAS in Accounting, a BBA in Accounting and a BBA in Finance.
