New! Online BBA in Management

September 27, 2022

UAA’s College of Business and Public Policy has developed a pathway for students to earn a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) in Management entirely online. Students within and outside Alaska can apply to the program, which includes both synchronous (meeting regularly online, i.e. Zoom) and asynchronous (no online meetings) courses.

The online option broadens opportunities especially for students at UAA community campuses who want to continue management studies at UAA after earning an Associate of Applied Science in General Business or Accounting at their home campus.

“We worked closely with directors and advisors at community campuses to learn what we could do to help their students complete their educational goals through UAA,” said Dr. Terry Nelson, Associate Dean of the College and Professor of Leadership and Business Administration. “We learned during the COVID pandemic that it’s possible to offer a quality remote educational experience. While we are excited to offer many face-to-face courses in Anchorage this year, we realized that with a bit of coordination and course mapping, we could also offer a full BBA online in addition to our traditional BBA in Management.”

The UAA BBA in Management explores the basics of human resource management and how the management of people affects a business as a whole. Students learn strategies for negotiations, entrepreneurship, conflict resolution and arbitration, and methods in business analytics and intelligence.
