In Appreciation of Edward Rasmuson

January 5, 2022
Edward and Cathryn Rasmuson This portrait of Edward and Cathryn Rasmuson hangs on the first floor of Rasmuson Hall located on UAA’s campus.

Today we remember Edward “Ed” Rasmuson, whose legacy of business acumen and generosity resonates with every student, staff and faculty member who walks through the doors of Rasmuson Hall. Named for Ed and his wife Cathy, Rasmuson Hall is the heart of UAA’s College of Business and Public Policy. The Rasmuson Foundation has supported CBPP in numerous ways over the years, including the Rasmuson Chair in Economics, and for research at the Institute of Social and Economic Research.

“As we reflect on Ed Rasmuson’s lasting contributions, we offer condolences and sincere appreciation for the impact he has made on our College, on UAA, our city and state,” said John Nofsinger, Dean of the College. “His unwavering commitment to Alaska through his work and his philanthropy serves as an example to all who care about the well-being of our state.”
