Webinar: Commercial Fisheries and Local Economies

On Thursday, March 25 from 12-1 pm, Dr. Brett Watson will present recent research that explores how commercial fishing impacts local economies. Alaska fisheries produced approximately $4.4 billion in sales in 2015, ranking first in the U.S. in terms of production. The new research, co-authored by Matt Reimer, Mouhcine Guettabi, and Alan Haynie is the first to statistically quantify how much locals in communities across the state are benefiting economically from this industry.
