2019 UAA Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence Winners at the CBPP and ISER

The winners of the 2019 UAA Chancellor’s Awards for Excellence have been announced and we are proud to report that we have winners at both the College of Business and Public Policy and the Institute of Social and Economic Research.

Dr. Alexander James has been named the recipient of the UAA Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Research/Creative Activity for which he had to contribute outstanding and significant impact in his field of study and to UAA through research, engagement or creative activities.

For his outstanding contribution to the advancement of diversity of UAA students, staff and faculty through increasing the visibility and representation of diverse voices, creating an atmosphere of inclusiveness and community, Dr. Gökhan Karahan was awarded the only UAA Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for Diversity.

Dr. Mouhcine Guettabi made outstanding contributions to the advancement of partnerships between the university and Alaska's communities and was named the recipient of the UAA Chancellor’s Award for Excellence for Community Engagement and Service.
