Dr. Christina McDowell is the co-editor of the recently published book, entitled "Integrated Marketing Communication: Creating Spaces for Engagement," which explores how Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) can open up spaces for engagement in our classrooms and our communities. The book's introduction explains that IMC "is a response to the needs of contemporary society, placing the consumer at the crux of engagement. IMC is a consumer-based approach, integrating the personal into marketing with the intent of reaching the consumer through connecting marketing practices to everyday life. IMC is a holistic approach to the areas of advertising, public relations, branding, promotions, event and experiential marketing, and related fields of strategic communication."
