A Message from the Dean

Good Morning,

CBPP Student Advising Staff
The College of Business and Public Policy's Student Advising Center. Pictured: (from left to right) Janet Burton, Allyson Berg, Pat Lee, Yana Yermolenko, Kelsey Cunningham, and Martha Massey.

As we celebrate many individual achievements of college members today, I would like to highlight a group accolade for excellence in advising. Our Student Advising Center has received the "Students’ Choice Award" as the highest performing advising group on campus as determined by the ‘UAA Student Perceptions of their Academic Advising Experience survey’. Please join me in congratulating SAC staff: Pat Lee, Martha Massey, Allyson Berg, Kelsey Cunningham, and Yana Yermolenko. In a follow-up message, Vice-Chancellor for Student Affairs, Bruce Schultz, wrote to me that “CBPP students are very pleased with their experience overall” and that our professional advisors receive the highest ratings on campus. It is also a great pleasure to recognize the excellent work that Graduate Programs Coordinator Janet Burton has done in advising our graduate students. Effective advising remains one of the most effective means of meeting the great challenge of improving student retention and completion rates.

Regards,
Rashmi
