Sessions

Faculty from each CBPP academic department and the Institute of Social and Economic Research (ISER) have developed 14 short, interactive sessions to highlight our programs, research, and quality education. Choose from a variety of presentations and learn something new about opportunities for students and how CBPP is making an impact in our community and the state.

Session 1 (5:45 PM - 6:00 PM)

  • Quality Online Education: An Inside View

    A demonstration of an online lecture and a description of how one online class works week-to-week, followed by a question and answer period so you can learn how online education works.

  • Learn about the OEC in Alaska Native Business Management

    Do you plan to live and work in Alaska? Then you need to understand how Alaska Native Corporations work. Our OEC covers the history, culture and management of ANCs, providing a distinctive certification for Alaska Natives and non-Natives. Learn about the OEC in ANBM.

  • Kiviq – A Market Trading Game

    Participate in a market trading game designed by UAA faculty to teach students about the fundamentals of supply and demand. Offered during all sessions.

  • Making Alaska More Cybersecure

    Hackers and cyber terrorists regularly prey on individuals, government organizations, small businesses, and major corporations—including in Alaska. Learn how we are exploring an OEC in cybersecurity to develop professionals who can help keep Alaska secure from cyber threats.

  • Cooking the Books & the Justice for Fraud Victims Project

That’s where UAA’s Justice for Fraud Victims Project (JFVP) comes in. Learn how the students of JFVP and their CFE mentors solve this mystery.

  • Developing the Next Generation of Alaska Leaders

  • Adopting the New CPA Exam: Accounting Analytics

    With the newly introduced changes to the CPA exam, the accounting curriculum at UAA is adapting. The 2022 Fall semester has a new offering: Fundamentals of Accounting Analytics. Come to learn how this course provides accounting students with data and technology skills they need to succeed.
