Biography
During nearly 40 years at UAA, Professor Geistauts taught and mentored several generations of students, many who serve in leadership positions in the state and worldwide. He served as chair/director of the MBA program for fifteen years, he was one of the faculty champions for the Alaska Native Organizational Management (now Alaska Native Business Management) program, he served as chair of the University Honors Council, and he conducted research that influenced policy development in Alaska in the 1970s. In recognition to his service to UAA and to the state of Alaska, Professor Geistauts received faculty emeritus status in 2016. He passed away on Friday, Jan. 4, 2019
