CBPP Receives Alaska Spirits Award

CHARR Award

During Alaska CHARR’s 18th Annual Heroes of Hospitality Awards Program, Dr. Terry Nelson accepted the Alaska Spirits Award on behalf of the College of Business and Public Policy (CBPP). This award is given to the business that shows leadership to improve the industry.

“When the UAA Culinary Arts Program faced budget cuts and the loss of some of its front-of-house certificates/degrees, the College of Business and Public Policy stepped in and made room in their college,” wrote Alaska CHARR in an announcement. “They continue to partner with Alaska CHARR, Alaska CHARR Educational Fund, and Alaska CHARR Future Hospitality Leaders Program to bring more certificates and classes to benefit the Alaska hospitality industry.”

CBPP will be introducing a new Hospitality Administration occupational endorsement certificate in Fall 2023. “Our commitment to quality education to develop Alaska’s next generation of business leaders extends to the hospitality industry,” Dr. Nelson said. “We are excited about new collaborations with organizations such as Alaska CHARR, and are honored to receive this recognition.”

Alaska CHARR (Alaska Cabaret, Hotel, Restaurant and Retailers Association) is a non-profit corporation that has been serving the hospitality industry since 1964.
