2014-15 Leadership Fellows and Juniors Graduate and 2015-16 Fellows Announced

The College of Business and Public Policy’s Student Recognition & Graduation Celebration on April 17th was the perfect forum to announce the graduation of the 2014 – 15 thirteen leadership fellows and introduction of the twenty-five students who had been selected for the 2015-16 cohort. The Leadership Fellows Program matches business students with key Anchorage community leaders for an academic year long one-on-one mentorship. The program was expanded this year to twenty–five students who represent almost every CBPP graduate and undergraduate (bachelor) program, i.e., masters, global logistics and supply chain, masters of public policy, masters of business administration, bachelors in economics, global logistics and supply chain, management, marketing, accounting, and finance. The 2015-16 program will kickoff in the fall with a reception in September.

In addition to CBPP’s college-level fellows graduating, seventeen Clark Middle School eighth graders graduated from the Leadership Fellows Junior Program at CBPP’s student celebration. The eight graders attended six 2-hour leadership building skill classes that included topics such as negotiations, ethics, public speaking, leadership qualities, etiquette, and tips for a successful college experience. They were also required to complete a community engagement project. The students were mentored by CBPP faculty, UAA staff, and CBPP Leadership Fellows.
